A Dream Wedding At Knotting Hill Place

Knotting Hill Place Wedding

Fallon & Alex were married on a gorgeous November day at Knotting Hill Place in Little Elm, Texas. Full of classic details from sparkling Christian Louboutins to champagne walls to the sweetest first look, Alexa Kay planned this powerhouse of a couple’s wedding with elegance and personality, while Sami Kathryn Photography captured each special moment and alllll the gorgeous white florals by Blushington Blooms!  As Fallon and Alex planned their wedding, their biggest concern was that their family and friends have a great time – that they would have a huge party and a wonderful night celebrating. Their selection of Knotting Hill Place as their venue was an easy one – they loved the elegant, fairytale feel, but also the sense of home and closeness that it brought to their wedding. Since they had so many guests in from out of town, they wanted it to be both magical and intimate!  When Fallon met Alex, she knew right away that he was the one. They’re both successful, driven business owners and share the same desire for constant growth. Alex McCray owns a sports & nutrition company, and Fallon Taylor is a barrel racer, podcaster, and clothing company owner. Fallon was an absolutely stunning bride. She loves special, personal touches, so one of her favorite parts of the wedding was her dress – a gorgeous white gown hand-sewn & designed for her by her bridesmaid, Codi Harman. Fallon has had a star studded barrel racing & horse training career, and in 2014 she became the WRPA Barrel Racing World Champion on a horse she trained herself, “Babyflo.” Fallon and her dad have the sweetest tradition – at the very end of every NFR race, her father gives her a high five as she rides through the alley way. Right after she married the man of her dreams and was leaving the ceremony with her new husband, her dad waited at the end of the aisle to give her that same high five that they have shared so many times. As if that meaningful moment wasn’t enough, as she was walking down the aisle, one of the horses she trained, Flobot, was crowned the reserve world champion in the BFA Futurity 2019.  At the end of the evening, Fallon & Alex drove away in a Rolls Royce to applauding friends and family who love and adore them, and who had an incredible night celebrating a beautiful couple – just the vision that they’d had in mind when they planned their wedding.

Fallon posted a vlog of their wedding, recapping the day and sharing her favorite moments here:

How did you meet?

We met while I was on a fitness journey. Alex co-owns a nutritional supplement company so gym time and my fitness journey was a big part of our love story.

What is your proposal story?

We were looking at buying our dream home and our offer had just been accepted so we stopped by to take a picture in front of our dream home. Alex dropped to one knee on our new walkway and proposed.

Tell us a little a bit about your wedding (your vision, color, style, and location choices).

Our vision was to have gorgeous neutral pictures to hang in our home forever. That was the primary choice behind keeping everything pretty neutral. The venue is so glamorous that we could keep things pretty simple and allow our guests enjoy the ambiance.

Tell us about your attire choices.

My dress was something I wanted to be very special. After looking at several off the rack dresses nothing was sparking that moment. I finally found a dress that I loved in instagram and after inquiring about price I immediately dismissed the idea of getting to wear it on my big day when one of my best friends volunteered herself to re-create the look despite her inexperience with making wedding dresses. I knew she would make it something really special and it was my dream dress that ended up meaning so much more to me than anything I could’ve purchased.

What was the most important to the two of you while planning? Was there anything that you chose to splurge on or skip?

We chose to splurge on the bar for our guests. We thought that the beverage list should be amazing since we had so many out of town guests. That was also our decision behind choosing the venue. We wanted something that had a ton of drive up appeal for everyone to feel like they were getting to vacation a little at a resort for our big day.

What were your favorite parts of the day? (memories and stories)

Our favorite part of the day was definitely our DJ. The DJ that we originally hired couldn’t make it and we had to chose a DJ quickly. Just several days before our event. HE WAS AMAZING and brought in so many props for us to play with and make everyone have so much fun!!!

Tell us about your wedding flowers.

Our wedding flowers actually BLEW OUR MIND! I was in the middle of getting ready and left everything to go check them out. They absolutely blew me away and compared to floral budgets of other brides I feel like I received so much value for my budget.

Tell us about your wedding cake.

We had a faux wedding cake at the wedding and served simple French Silk pies from Tom Thumb! It was a big part of our first few dates and was super important for us.

Did you include any family heirlooms or special traditions?

I did high five my dad after walking down the aisle. It is a tradition that we have had for 20 years when I compete!

Do you have any advice for couples planning their weddings now?

Yes. Find an amazing wedding planner that will help you find the very best vendors for you and make your choices very simple.
