Brimming with opulent colors, this shoot, filled with Baroque wedding ideas inspired by still life paintings seen in the homes of royalty from centuries ago. It was this exact concept that made Megan McGreevy Photography want to see more rich and colorful floral arrangements in today’s weddings. Baroque styling by definition, embraces ornamental elements, deep colors and intense lighting with a heavy focus on drama. This shoot is all that and more.
In order to fully execute the vision, a venue that could carry the style would be needed. That’s why the Fox Chapel Golf Club was perfect for this with it’s elegant fireplaces and still life paintings. The elegant invitation suite featured torn edges and gold foiling. The inner envelope was a dusty pink and was styled with a baroque monogram liner while the outer envelope was white with a dusty blue liner. Flower petals and gold jewelry were used to add texture and elegance to the flat lays.
The indoor atrium of the golf club with it’s all glass ceiling was the perfect location to set up the cake and styled tables. The cake was a subtle shade of dusty blue perfection. It was styled with hand painted golden pears and leaves for an almost Grecian look. The cake pedestal was gold with a ornate metal border which went perfect with the gold table it was set upon. To add to the look, a gold drink cart was styled to match the theme and was filled with refreshing beverages.
The florals were the main focus of the shoot. Big bold and beautiful bouquets and centerpieces are what really defined the day. The bouquets were extra long and overflowing with an array of colorful blooms like garden roses, tulips, ranunculus and red anemones. They purposely avoided creating a tight bouquet so that all the florals could have enough room to bloom without looking over-crowded. The lavish centerpieces contained the same bold flowers as the bouquet but instead were placed on a golden pedestal to mimic a still life painting. The ballroom fireplace was decorated with a over the top floral installation and was filled with baby’s breath, greenery and vivid flowers. Luxury, elegance and beauty was exuding from every detail.
Three different gowns were showcased. A focus was kept of high necklines, lace and sleeves to keep in line with the old world elegant feel of the era.

Brides looking for baroque wedding ideas and inspiration will love all the lavish details of this shoot!
