This charming ranch wedding was inspired by magnolia leaves and southern charm and is full of ideas for couples looking to incorporate this look into their big day. The shoot was hosted at a beautiful ranch style venue in Dade City, Florida, outside of Tampa. It features large oak trees and sprawling property that is ideal to capture that golden hour glow. The look was kept romantic and classic with soft pinks and blues, and feminine hair and makeup.
- Incorporate Southern Styling In Your Accessories
Heirlooms and vintage touches are the hallmarks of a beautiful Southern design. Adding items to your flat lays like vintage silver trays, your grandmother’s pearl necklace, hand-calligraphed accents, and wax seals will add a feeling of nostalgia.
2. Choose a Ceremony Site Under a Large Shaded Tree
A large Oak Tree decorated with chandeliers and string lights will provide the perfect backdrop for your ceremony. Add bright white guest seating and you have yourself the perfect contrast for a ceremony that no one will forget.

Pro Tip! Decorate your bartop with dried citrus slices for a pop of refreshing color and texture.

3. Find A Venue With Character From The Start
Choosing the right venue will set the tone for your entire day. Most couples choose a venue and then go out of their way to change the look of the whole space to accommodate their vision. While this is one way to do it, we think it’s much easier if it fits your style from the start. A ranch-style venue, local farm venue or large family estate will be among your best choices. Look for features like wrap-around porches, large shaded trees, and sprawling landscapes for all the southern touches!

4. Farm Table Seating
For a true family-style vibe, a genuine outdoor farm table set on the property is a must! Opt for a traditional wood feasting table decorated with a long fabric runner, tall candlesticks, and colored glass goblets. Top it with a centerpiece or floral garland that matches the rest of your decor.
5. Choose a natural long hairstyle with a floral headpiece.
We love the look of long sunkissed hair and a bold lip color that pops! Southern-style weddings are the perfect time to rock this look. Let your hair down and put on that flower crown!
What was your design inspiration behind this charming ranch wedding shoot?
The design inspiration came from thinking about a bouquet filled with magnolia leaves at a classic Charleston, old home, elegant, wedding. We looked for a classic white style home with a sprawling yard of oak trees to highlight the southern charm. Romantic soft colors such as blush pink and light blue were incorporated into the inspiration along with pops of classy gold finishes.
Describe the flowers.
The florals included a lot of greenery including magnolia leaves to give them a timeless but organic feel. From there the two bouquets including lots of white florals with soft pink roses and ranunculus. The pet collar included lots of greenery and magnolia leaves as well to tie everything in.
Describe the amazing cake.
The cake was a super feminine 3 tier design complete with a hand-designed fondant pink bow and monogram. It was a very traditional white fondant wedding cake with soft pink roses, but with a little twist in the pops of elegant and girly additions.
Tell us all about the stunning attire choices.
When thinking about a classy, elegant southern wedding, two textures came to mind: tulle and lace. Our first gown, a tulle ballgown was full of old Hollywood elegance with a dramatic skirt option to make a statement. The second gown was a form-fitting, full lace dress with a long flared out bottom full of lace trim. Both dresses oozed romance and provided lots of movement.
Describe any DIY, handmade or personal details couples can get inspired from.
Our welcome, bar, and dessert signage was all themed in a light baby blue to match the rest of the shoot, with elegant white hand-lettered calligraphy. We had handmade sparkling bonbon truffles, complete in pink, blue, and gold. The hand-crafted invitation suite was a highlight which included a personalized monogrammed crest, as well as a watercolor of the venue on the envelope liner. A special and unique detail was the Harpist serenading the couple at their sweetheart table with beautiful love songs.
Describe the tablescape elements.
The table-scape kept consistent with our soft color and greenery theme, but with a bit of a twist. We included black plates to give a classy touch that pulled in the groom’s suit color, along with elegant gold-rimmed chargers. The sweetheart and reception table were set on the side of the farmhouse on solid wood tables to highlight the stunning property.
