Alysha and Cody’s celestial wedding, full of moons and stars, was inspired by Alysha’s dream dress by Hayley Paige. She knew she wanted a dove grey wedding dress, and she fell in love with her dress when she found it in a Google image search. After trying it on, she knew it was the one, and since it looked like a galaxy, she figured that was the theme for the wedding! She had always been obsessed with paper moons from the 1920s, so it was perfect.
Both the bride and groom are actors on Broadway, so they had their wedding on a Monday night (the day off for actors) at The Green Building in Brooklyn. It was important that the wedding felt like them and wasn’t dictated by what other people think a wedding should be. Alysha says “We didn’t have a bridal party because I can’t imagine ranking my friends. We had no assigned seating because I didn’t want to dictate what experience everyone had by deciding who sat next to them. I wanted it to be a Choose Your Own Adventure situation.”
