Romantic DIY Colorado Wedding Filled With Glittery Details

Kaylene and Daniel were married at the groom’s family ranch.  It was the perfect setting for this romantic Colorado wedding.  The bride and her bridesmaids enjoyed an amazing spread while getting ready at the ranch while the groom and his groomsmen prepared at a house nearby.  The couple took some time on the morning of the wedding to write each other letters that they exchanged in private before the ceremony.

Their ceremony under the trees was gorgeous and filled with surprises and laughter.  The reception was filled with DIY touches from hand painted mason jars to a display of delicious homemade pies and sweet “thank yous” laid out on the tables.

From the Bride…

Tell us about your wedding! What was the inspiration behind your day? Did you have a specific theme, style or color palette? Did you incorporate any cultural or religious traditions in any part of your day?
Our wedding ended up being absolutely perfect! we had invited the right amount of people so it was fun and very intimate. rose gold is my favorite! I wore rose gold jewelry, my engagement ring is rose gold so it only seemed fitting to plan my dream day around that color palette. we are both Christian and had my husbands grandmas pastor marry us!

Let’s talk wedding decor. How did you decorate your space for the ceremony and the reception? Was any part of the decor DIY?
I’d say 95% of the decor was DIY. between my family and my soon to be family, we decorated the entire place ourselves. it’s kind of funny actually, I was outside setting up centerpieces 10 minutes before guests were arriving! I got an early start on all of the jars and backdrops!

What were the florals like in your wedding? Did you use flowers in any of your design elements like the bridal bouquets, centerpieces or ceremony backdrop? Did they play an important part in the overall style of your wedding?
I like simple, so the centerpieces had loose flowers, the arbor was mostly greenery and my bouquet! oh my gosh, it was all greenery with a few peonies, which are my favorite flowers. baby’s breath, spider mums, and roses, what we couldn’t order in the right color we sprayed ourselves too!

Did you personalize the day in any way (food trucks, guest entertainment etc.)? What were some of your favorite parts of your wedding?
All of our vendors were local, flowers, food and dj. we wanted it that way. my brother in law did a lot of the MCing which was so fun for everyone! dancing had to have been the best part, everyone was up there and Daniel created the music list himself.

Let’s talk fashion. How did you choose your wedding day look? How did the groom? Describe both looks in detail.
it’s hard to describe my look, I love lace and my entire dress was lace. my headpiece was handmade, rose gold of course, but very delicate and it wrapped around my head. I wanted a romantic chic look. daniel looked so handsome in the navy blue and the blush pink contrast like his tie and flower was so sharp!
