Gorgeous Geometric Inspired Styled Wedding

From the photographer:

When Jenna and I began putting together the details for this fun styled shoot, we were really drawn to the idea of non-traditional wedding arches. We got in touch with an awesome rental company, and they were actually able to build us the hexagon arch we were dreaming of. That geometric twist was then woven throughout the other pieces of the shoot.

With the arrival of spring in the otherwise chilly Northeast, we wanted to pair our geometric dreams with a garden-esque floral experience. Our lovely florist went above and beyond to make sure each of our decor elements was paired with the perfect combination of blooms.

We chose to pay homage to the rustic nature of our venue by including trained horses that can be rented for weddings. One of the horses can even smile on command, which was incredibly sweet. By the end of the day, we had decided these lovely horses could really be “Disney Princess Horses.”

Rooted Farmstead is tucked deep in the Bellefonte region just miles from State College. It’s the perfect location for a wedding day, and we love the sweet husband/wife team who own it. They have an awesome sense of humor as is noted by the t-shirt bearing their logo and the phrase “best place to pick up chicks!”

We chose a real couple, Austin Milligan and Jessica Duncan, to model for us. They are students at nearby Penn State University, and are both extremely comfortable with farm animals and of course, each other! The dress chosen from local boutique Diamonds and Lace fit Jessica as if it had been made with her in mind. Complete with a gorgeous floral crown, she was the epitome of a Bohemian beauty.

One of my favorite features of the shoot were the two cakes provided by our baker as well as the delicious macarons. Macarons make for simply gorgeous ring-shot props, and they set off our rose-gold sparkler spectacularly. The cakes were both unique yet close enough in nature to be paired together. The blush watercolor cake with the gold leaf was my personal favorite as the gold matched our various geometric terrariums beautifully.

We also decorated our tables and aisle benches with a variety of mercury glass. We love the idea of using various heights and colors of glass throughout the reception space. These can be anything from grandma’s antique glassware to various wine bottles.
