From the brides: “We are college sweethearts and met in our English class, but not right away. Amanda noticed me first and after I had actually dropped the class Amanda took a look in our professors ledger to look from a crossed out name. It was me! She then found me on MySpace and eventually I asked my friend, who happened to be her cousin to get us connected. The rest is history.
We both wanted our grandmothers involved in the day somehow. So we decided to make them our “Flower Grannies”! They both loved being a part of the ceremony and they stole the show!
Our bouquets and boutonnières were made from a woman in England who made them from Harry Potter book pages, which is a huge part of Amanda’s life.
Erin is a HUGE fan of Breaking Bad, so we found small ways to include it into our wedding details. Including blue rock candy similar to what was used in the show to give to our hotel guests.
Erin had a very special piece of fabric buttoned into her suit jacket as a surprise from Amanda. My cousin Sarah, who was also supposed to be in our wedding, passed away from cancer the year before. Sarah and I were so close our whole life growing up. Loosing her was and continues to be the hardest thing I’ve ever gone through. Not having her next to me on my wedding day was heartbreaking. Amanda was able to get Sarah’s favorite dress from my aunt and worked with my mom and CT Costume Clothing Company to surprise me the morning of the wedding with a heart made of the dress to button in my jacket. I was able to feel her with me on the day.”
From the Photographer:
Blues skies, and nautical gorgeousness abounds in the Candlewood Inn wedding of Amanda & Erin.
Amanda & Erin had such cool details, reflective of their unique personalities in every way. From “Harry Potter” whimsy, to hardcore “blue rock candy” party favors from “Breaking Bad,” the details were cute and charming.
The couple met at The Candlewood Inn for a “first look” and excitement and pictures followed. Their bridal party consisted of another of my favorite couples…J.J. and Carianne; whose wedding I photographed a few years back!
The couple rocked the dance floor throughout the night thanks to Musician and D.J. Jeff Ladd. Special thanks to Scott who 2nd shot this fantastic wedding with me, and “Beauty Entourage” … makeup and hairstyling was perfect!
