Handwritten letters are a nostalgic symbol of the days before instant gratification tools like email, cell phones, and social media. There is something so powerful in a letter that someone takes the time to sit down and write just for you. You are locked into interpreting every word, thought and feeling without any sound. A truly magical exchange sealed in time forever on a piece of paper.
For this gorgeous bridal portrait session, a group of vendors found inspiration in the movie The Notebook – the sweet love story about Noah and Allie. Falling in love with this Iconic film, they brought in clothing and styling that is reminiscent of the era. The warm glow from the Southern California sunshine, love letters, stunning flowers and delicate details made this a day all romantic brides will love! The gorgeous Model, Andi, is no stranger to love letters. Her husband who is deployed writes to her any chance he gets. These letters are becoming a long lasting memory for her to read as time goes by.
The flat lays above are styled with accents like dried fruits, vintage photos, magnifying glasses, old books, torn parchment paper and dreamy stationary. The vintage elements combined paint a picture of a time when simple things spoke volumes.
The day would not be complete without a vintage bicycle. As another nod to the film, a stack of love letters were hand tied and placed on the back of the bike all ready to be delivered to their recipient. The basket held an amazing bouquet that was styled with white anemones and soft pink garden roses.
This Notebook inspired bridal portrait session would not be complete with a double exposure of the sweet bride to be and a hand calligraphed love letter. A great idea for any couple would be to overlay their ceremony picture with their vows for a similar effect that will have you swooning!
If there ever were a perfect dress for a Notebook inspired session it would be this light blue stunner by Shop Blush elegance. Beaded and embroidered appliques cover the sheer top of this gown along with a nude colored underlay, the bottom half featured layers of soft blue fabric covered by a soft overlay.
The model’s look was kept soft and romantic while enhancing her natural beauty. A bold lip was applied that perfectly contrasted her dress yet matched the florals in her bouquet. Her hair was pulled back in a loose and full bun that allowed the golden sunlight to peak through.
Bride’s looking to have a Notebook inspired bridal portrait session will love all the nostalgic inspiration found in the shoot!
