What inspired you to start your business?
I have over 7 years of project management experience and I fell into corporate events early on my career. I was lucky enough to work at some of London’s best venues (Savoy, Claridges, The Dorchester). The best vendors in the UK followed and I learned so much from them on the job and through training – that helped me build Sublime’s rigorous standards of client service and understand the industry. Having close friends getting married, I was asked to help on several occasions and to provide some sort of input. Sublime Luxury Weddings came along quite naturally as I loved learning all about the couple. Being able to translate the couple’s personalities and love story to their wedding day in a creative and sophisticated manner, and ensuring the day goes according to their vision is pure joy!
What is one of your favorite things about being a wedding professional?
Bringing part of bringing two families together and being able to tell a couple’s unique story at their wedding through all the details.
What makes your business stand out from others?
Our commitment to our couples can be seen in different aspects, including our strict vendor vetting and our collaborative approach. These allow us to create a unique wedding and showcase the couple’s love for one another.
Ensuring that our clients’ dream wedding comes to life as they envision it is our mission! We love being part of creating the happiest day in a couple’s life, with memories that will last a lifetime. Creating beautiful and unique weddings that capture the essence of our clients is paramount to us. We only take a limited number of weddings per year which enables us to really get to know our couples and provide them with a truly bespoke service.
What is one thing most couples would be surprised to know about you?
I have an MSc in Clinical Psychology and almost went on a Ph.D. program in the US – but decided I’d prefer listening and talking to people rather than just observing them and crunching numbers!
I also speak four languages: English, Portuguese, Spanish and French. Italian is work in progress!
Taking a look back, what is the most memorable event you worked at so far?
All Sublime weddings are memorable as they are tailor-made to a specific couple, with that couple’s story at heart. No two weddings are alike, as no two couples have the same story nor dynamic.
At one of the weddings we planned, and due to the couple’s story, we arranged for tango dancers to lead the guests to the reception area – the guests were dazzled by this surprise!
What’s your favorite wedding trend right now?
Love for one another – always fashionable and timeless!
Do you have any advice for newly engaged couples?
Being engaged is one of the most exciting times of your lives – allow yourselves the chance to enjoy it to the fullest!
Especially if you are planning a destination wedding hire a local wedding planner with whom you can communicate confidently with and you can trust them to educate you on how things work on that part of the world – be sure to ask plenty of questions!
