Winter Wonderland Wedding at Design Exchange in Ontario

Melissa and Alan had a breathtaking winter wonderland wedding at Design Exchange in Ontario. The day was filled with bright white elements and sparkling accents. We love the beautiful sparkling tree centerpieces that decorated the tables during their reception.

Melissa was an absolute vision in her amazing gown. Her satin belt perfectly matched her bridesmaid dresses.

Read more about their amazing love story below at the end of the post.

Ever since Alan was little, he and his best friend Kymberli did everything together. Kymberli explained in her ‘best man’ speech that he often didn’t even recognize that she was a girl and regarded her as one of the guys. One day they had a movie night and Alan, a guy who typically loves martial arts and action movies brought over movies like Rambo. Kymberli, being the girl that she is, brought over movies like the Notebook. As they were watching the Notebook, Alan burst out crying unexpectedly saying he wanted that “notebook love”. Alan had always trusted Kymberli to be his ‘wingman’ and so she realized it was really time for her to find him the girl to give him that “notebook love”.

Kymberli put up an online profile for him. She explained that he went out on a few dates, but when he met Melissa, Alan was very different. He was very romantic around her as he had finally found that “notebook love”! Melissa says that Alan can make her laugh at just about anything. And she loves to laugh. Each of their wedding party spoke about how Alan and Melissa are a match made in heaven and even just spending a day with them, I could not agree more!

Melissa got ready at her home which looked like it was styled out of a magazine! It was so pretty and beautiful to photograph in. Her two-piece dress from Becker’s Bridal was to die for! She looked like a gorgeous princess in that dress and fitted her perfectly! Melissa received a wedding gift from Alan which was a pack of 52 cards of why he loves her. The expression on her face as she read through them was so sweet!

After their ceremony at the St Mary’s Church in downtown, we headed over to The University Club for their photos that looked like they were right out of a fairytale. As we were working with very limited time as the sun had already way past set (as it is winter-time!), it was very challenging to work within a dark building. But Melissa and Alan were such troopers and made our jobs so easy!

Melissa and Alan’s reception at The Design Exchange was filled with DIY decor made by Melissa and all her bridesmaids. They had hand-made all the wintery centerpieces and the venue looked like a winter wonderland. The Design Exchange is such an interesting venue since it is the home of Toronto’s Original Stock Exchange where brokers would conduct all their trades! Along with the help of Alana at Swoon Events, Melissa and Alan did an amazing job in dressing up the hall for a beautiful celebration of their love!
